This is what was once the Pickle Barrel. It was a restaurant that served sandwiches and ice cream. But, sadly, it was destroyed in a gas explosion in March. Hopefully they will rebuild someday. In the meantime, there is not really anywhere to get ice cream so we are going to go on a search for some!
Molly in front of the mural.
Samantha standing in front of a mural in downtown Bozeman. There are Native Americans in the picture so Samantha is excited :)
The Montana state flag blowing in the wind.
Us taking a break on our walk back from our attempt to reach the "M." As you can see, it is very windy...Molly's hair is blowing onto Samantha's head!
The big "M." We attempted to walk to it today but it is just too far and too windy and too hot:( We learned today that it stands for Montana State University. It is made out of rock and it was build by students in 1915.
Molly on the "river."
Samantha standing on a mosaic made to look like a river. It was just randomly in the middle of the sidewalk in downtown Bozeman.
The inside of the bookstore...it was really cool!
The largest indendently owned bookstore in Bozeman. Molly found two books for her independent study with Dr. Wiggins. There were tons that she wanted to get but, 1. she doesn't have enough money and 2. there isn't enough room to pack them :(
knowing you two, i just have to ask, which one of you is staying behind so your weight can be replaced with purchased books?
ReplyDeletehaha! Unfortunately we're going to have to check another bag on our way back :( That's goingn to be another $25.00, but it's okay. Molly only bought 2 books and I haven't bought any (yet) *gasp, I know. we'll need the extra duffle we packed for presents :)
ReplyDeleteMolly, I see you have your "Russia" bag with you. Looks like a great trip!
ReplyDeleteWow that place really blew up! Must have been really scarry!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone tell you how bit the M is?
